Noir!

Article by Gemma Lawrence | 16 Sep 2009

The third chapter of the ever- expanding Noir! will be launched this September with a show comprising of Edinburgh’s finest boutiques and designers. The concept of Noir! began with a Jonathan Freemantle exhibition at Hawke and Hunter, which developed the idea of throwing a party that the creators themselves wanted to be at.

Freemantle, Noir’s founder, aims to build an environment where artists are able to explore fresh and innovative ideas without the pressures of external curators. The project encourages a cross-collaboration of industries by bringing together artists of all interests and styles. ‘Chapter Three- Fashion’ promises to be a night of innovation and ingenuity- spurred on by Freemantle’s desire to create an event alive with the creativity found in an artist’s studio.

Anna Freemantle is choreographing and modeling the event. She aims to promote the Edinburgh fashion scene, highlighting its diverse qualities and shaking “the stigma that Edinburgh is a safe, conservative city.”
