The Dullest Blog: comedy ramblings to inspire the most tedious minute of your week

On one particular day this Fringe, a girl called Geraldine was dobbed in by her friend because she made four different types of cake in one day. This may not seem particularly heroic, but it turns out that was the best thing anyone could come up with, so Geraldine was made my honourary sidekick for the day. It's just as well, because as my show came to its climax, my laptop froze (I'm one of those "multimedia" comedians). As I struggled to ad-lib while rebooting my computer, I turned to Geraldine and said,

"If only you'd brought cake with you today!"

"Oh!" said Geraldine. "But I have!"

And she pulled out a tupperware box FULL of cupcakes and started handing them out to the audience! By the time everyone was fed, the laptop was up and running and we finished the show in true celebratory style thanks to Geraldine and her wonderful cakes! I might have to start bringing a flask of tea along in case it happens again...
