Once a year, us Australians get together to skite about our greatness while simultaneously pretending to be good honest underdogs. This involves a lot of beer, flatulent talk and addressing one another as ‘maaaaaaaaate.’ Those Aussie expats dismayed to be spending this day of national importance in Pommy-land should be rest assured that there’s plenty of that sort of thing in Auld Reekie. Four Australian comedians have made the journey from Dublin, London and Glasgow to present Edinburgh with some of the finest bloody comedy in the world.

Ro Campbell (Hackney Empire New Act Finalist 2009) is one of the very best comedians on the Scottish comedy scene at the minute. Damian Clark (of Nova FM fame) has also worked with Rove Live and ‘I Dare Ya’ of RTE Ireland. CJ Fortuna (he was in Neighbours once, don’t hold it against him) and Marcus Ryan complete the line-up.

This promises to be a uniquely antipodean event. Generously, the invitation to Stand Up Australia at The Stand is extended to people of all nations, although they might find themselves to be the butt of some extremely clever humour.
