We’re really excited to see Elaine Robertson back on Scottish stages (The Stand, Glasgow, 1 Jun; The Stand, Edinburgh, 3 Jun). The Gateshead-native, with a flair for the surreal, brings Delulu back after a run at The Stand last August and comes highly recommended with her Sean Lock Award nomination and her ISH Comedy Award win in 2024. Abby Govindan’s show, Pushing 30, also sounds like a lot of fun (Monkey Barrel, Edinburgh, 20 Jun). With backing from both Daniel Sloss and Hasan Minhaj, the Indian-American comic’s show sounds like a smart, satirical swipe at dating, generational curses and the immigrant experience in Trump’s America.

Get in on the ground floor with Kate Hammer and Eva Peroni they've got plenty of WIPs to choose from. Kate has WIPs in June and July (Monkey Barrel, 1 Jun; Gael & Grain, Glasgow, 13 Jun with Grace Mulvey; Monkey Barrel, 18 Jul) while Eva tests her show out in a couple of spots too (Gael & Grain, 6 Jun; Monkey Barrel, 17 Jul). Both are doing their first proper hours at the Fringe this year thanks to Brass Tacks’ Fringe funding scheme, the pair have been working their way up the Scottish scene for the past few years and really are at the top of their game.

And don’t forget to book ahead for these local legends gearing up for August too. Matt McDonald and Jack Brookmyre have a double-hander WIP coming up (The Stand, Glasgow, 11 Jul). And on 12 July, MC Hammersmith & Sam Lake share a preview (The Stand, Edinburgh), while a stone’s throw away, Marjolein Robertson’s back with her first new show after her acclaimed Marj-O-Lein trilogy (Monkey Barrel).
