Enjoy the Last Laugh at The Dullest Show

However bad life might seem, there are always a host of comics out there more bitter, twisted and broke than you could ever imagine and this dull January, The Skinny is offering you the opportunity to indulge in a little schadenfreude whilst they entertain you.

I hate January. Everyone hates January. It’s cold, it’s slippy, you’re poor, fat and nauseous, it’s ages ‘til Christmas and you have piles of work that’s been mounding up since before the festive season. To top it off, some boffins hidden away in a lab somewhere work out every year that the saddest and most boring day is towards the end of January (normally deciding on around the 22nd.)

This is where The Skinny’s Dullest Project comes into play. Online readers might well know of The Dullest Blog, a weekly column on our website full of comic musings from top acts around the country. It’s published on a Tuesday morning, in order to brighten what is officially (according to those same boffins) the dullest point of the week. Now some of these bloggers are getting together for The Dullest Show, a special Skinny-run night at The Stand, Edinburgh on 20 January (excitingly, a contender for this year’s most depressing day!), to brighten your outlook even further.

The show will be compered by Bratchy, co-host of the Arches’ monthly Comedy Pub Quiz, and topped off with Radio Scotland regular and comedy stalwart Teddy. Supporting are fellow bloggers Elaine Malcolmson, Chris Henry and Gus Tawse. All that for a fiver. To book tickets, go to The Stand website. See you there. [Anna Kynes]
