Zero 7 - You're My Flame

Zero 7: now synonymous with coffee shops, bad taste and, on this evidence, sleep-inducement

Single Review by Nick Mitchell | 15 Jul 2006
Single title: You're My Flame
Artist: Zero 7
Label: Atlantic
Let's be honest, it would have taken one almighty turnaround for Zero 7 to avoid the critical spanking they are about to receive. The London duo of Sam Hardaker and Henry Binns made their name by imitating Air circa 'Moon Safari' with half the talent, and have now become synonymous with coffee shops, bad taste and, on this evidence, sleep-inducement. Once more exploiting the overcooked vocals of Sia Furler, You're My Flame, in all its sugar-coated emptiness, reminds us why we tried to forget Zero 7 in the first (and second) place. Insomniacs take note. [Nick Mitchell]

This single is out on July 17.
