To My Boy - I am Xray / Outerregions

To My Boy sound like The Ramones, but having fast-forwarded twenty years and swapped heroin and guitars for pills and synths

This debut release from To My Boy is a madcap medley of electronic beeps and blips, analogue fun and robotic vibrations. The brainchild of Sam White and Jack Snape, two 20-year-old lads based in Liverpool, To My Boy sound like The Ramones having fast-forwarded twenty years and swapped drink and guitars for pills and synths. Track one I am Xray is a love song, with Outerregions described by the boys as "a hymn to the beyond." Futuristic pop made using a combination of guitars and computer, accompanied by out of this world lyrics makes this first release an exciting, intoxicating listen. Definitely one to keep an eye on for the future. [Karen Taggart]
