Rodion - Fisco/Love EP

Fisco/Love is the latest release form Italian electro hoppers Rodion. The single sees the band embark on a musical journey, mixing absurd acid ecstasy and classic euro-disco seventies funk. They are signed to the German based Gomma label, known for housing multi-instrumental artists. In this case, Fisco does not immediately grab your attention, with a repetitive synth loop and clichéd bass riff driving the song, but it redeems itself somewhat with some cheeky guitar and drum work. This has the effect of wakening your neck mussels for a few fantastic seconds, only to lapse back into tedium as the initial tone of the song kicks this cheeky melody into touch. [Franck Martin]
