The best euro-disco dancing this side a' Glasgae'

This was a night of 'I have nevers'; starting with 'I have never seen a musician pause mid-song for two minutes to stand on the stage with his shoe and foot clenched between his teeth', progressing through a sweaty strip, grinding against male members of the audience, and the best euro-disco dancing this side a' Glasgae'. Dividing your attention between the electro monstrosities of Namosh and the future visions of the 80s art crowd (OTT make-up and lycra) being projected onto a nearby wall made for a full-on arthouse experience. On its own, his music falls down a little – it is the personality and pseudo-performance art that really brings it alive. 'Moccatongue's full repertoire was brought to life for the first-rate hour-long show, involving rapid changes between laptop, mixer, drum, kazoo and vocals. The eclectic electronic sounds of HifiSean and Hushpuppy sandwiched the set, sating any needs for thumping variety. [Alex Burden]
