Single title: Right On
Artist: Lottergirls
Label: TNT/Four Music
Desperate for your attention, Lottergirls exude punk-attitude and
electro-dynamism. The girls have thoroughly raided their samples
collection, and provide a wonderful homage to Iggy Pop. Love is Dope
name-checks every drug known to man and repeats it's chorus line so
many times you wonder if lead Lottergirl Princess Superstar should
detox for a while. Frequently the bass lines are even dirtier than the
lyrics, and considering one member of the girls plays under the name
Fetisch, that's some grimy bass. The guest vocalists add to the
variety than ensures Right On maintains it's intrigue and will
doubtless ensure many repeat listens. However, the girls suffer too
much dope love and the EP tails off with the last few tracks
lacking the impact of earlier numbers. [Luc Benyon]
