Reducing even further the minimal template that Van Dowski has cut so many successful records to in the past two years, this 12" continues a winning streak of LVD collaborations. Practicing a less abstract version of the severed vocals that Matthew Herbert has made his trademark, Asem brims with hefty bass, tightly cut percussion and a driving repetitiveness, whilst Vreq meanders through darker, more tripped out passages. Both sides cut, reduce and refine until there's little left but low-end keys and tightly trimmed snares. Powerful stuff. [Liam Arnold]
