New Age Army offers up a mix of bass, styles and tunes, intertwining hard hitting lyrics, a realistic outlook and a sense of humour and flair

Album title: New Age Army
Artist: L. Man
Label: Lovedough Records
The South London rapper L. Man is back with his third release, a compilation LP featuring a range of work, combining old tracks from the past and new lyrical creations. Known for his role in NDoubleA and his previous two mixtapes Facts of Life Vol. 1 and 2, this album has been eagerly anticipated with over 370,000 pre-release MySpace plays. L. Man's contribution to grime, which he describes as "a fusion of UK garage, drum and bass, jungle and rap" is evident, with his strange Eminem approach mixed with what sounds like Old Street songs to keep listeners intrigued. Pushin', featuring Dom P, is a brilliant down to earth cautionary tale, while other tracks hit hard beats and rapid lyrics. New Age Army offers up a mix of bass, styles and tunes, intertwining hard hitting lyrics, a realistic outlook and a sense of humour and flair. Definitely worth checking out. [Lara Moloney]
