Kosheen - Damage

Infused with trip-hop, jazz, guitars, and synths

Album Review by Karen Taggart | 07 Nov 2007
Album title: Damage
Artist: Kosheen
Label: Moksha Recordings
Bristol trio Kosheen (Sian Evans, Darren Decoder and Markee Substance) return with their third studio album and follow-up to 2003's major hit Kokopelli. Known for their unique take on electronica, Damage is infused with trip-hop, jazz, guitars and synths. Sian's distinctive voice is back on form, with powerful lyrics reflecting her own personal experiences. Same Ground Again, title track Damage and Chances all get stuck in your head, with catchy riffs, heavy beats and great use of synths and keyboard to truly provide something different and memorable. At sixteen tracks the album can seem overlong, but is certainly worthy of repeated listening to appreciate their eclectic sound. [Karen Taggart]
