Album title: Kennedy for President
Artist: Kennedy
Label: Atlantic Records
The Youtube favourite for Kennedy's Your Mama, with the lyrics "Nobody
loves you like your mama / But who's loving your mama? / I am," provides you with a precedent of what to expect from Kennedy. A comedy pop performer known under the genre of 'dirty pop', he is actually ridiculous. The album consists of interesting, funky house beats combined with sexual innuendos, childish yet to-the-point lyrics and a variety of vocal styles, losing momentum about half-way through. Stand out track Going Insane mentions George Bush and David Hasselhof, while other tunes flaunt early 90s' dance as backing beats and the unnecessary rhyming is farcical. Annoyingly it is mostly an enjoyable album, not only making you giggle but also getting your toes tapping; don't blame people for falling for his charms – he is running for president after all!
