Jamelia - No More

Taking on a momentous classic like Golden Brown is no small challenge,
especially for a lady who has been out of the scene for two years
concentrating on other issues. After walking away from her career
while it was at its peak, she is back with third album Walk With Me, and
the newest single includes a musical motif from The Stranglers, supporting and complimenting Jamelia's passionate and resonating voice. While the
tune drifts along soothingly and the lyrics are heartfelt, it does create an
element of confusion that Hugh Cornwell should be warbling along to this
individual rhythm the Stranglers created. Hard to dislike but far from original. [Lara Moloney]
