Fabio & Grooverider, Xtrabass 07 and Xplicit, Art School, Glasgow, 9 Mar

Tonight Glasgow is gifted another ladle full of Xplicit drum and bass with a 4am license from the City. Following on from the success of last years UK-wide tour the BBC is back with Xtrabass 07, treating Scotland to the cream of their d&b crop. After opening sets from local man Morphy and DJ Profisee, 1Xtra resident Bailey takes over the substantial sound system with a heavy, aggressive set going out live on Radio 1. Grooverider keeps things heavyweight as he continues the onslaught with MC Tonn Piper. Last up from the BBC camp is Fabio who adds a slice of soul to the night with a touch of his luscious Liquid Funk styles. Bringing the event to a close are ENO and Paul Reset, back to back with a techy session - spot on to take things to 4am! [Jack Waddington]
