Hats off to We Are Electric for bringing yet another top guest to the capital

Article by Peter Walker | 10 Jun 2007
What better way to launch this year's Triptych festival than with one of the world's most sought-after DJs and producers, Ewan Pearson. A regular spinner at some of Europe's top clubs, and studio wizard for the likes of The Rapture, Depeche Mode, and the Chemical Brothers, he certainly has an impeccable pedigree. After a decidedly crowd-pleasing introduction from Gary Mac, and a commendable warm up from Flix, on comes the headliner; quickly laying out one of those sets that leaves clubbers afraid to leave the dancefloor for fear of missing something. Fully utilising the Cab Vol's bassbins, and displaying clear influences of his new habitat in Berlin, he plougs relentlessly through a deft mix of hot European tech-house and smouldering contemporary classics. Hats off to We Are Electric for bringing yet another top guest to the capital. [Peter Walker]
