Dragonette - Take It Like A Man

A delightful slice of electro pop rock with plenty of sing along potential

Single Review by Natalie Doyle | 09 Aug 2007
Single title: Take It Like A Man
Artist: Dragonette
Label: Mercury Records
The quartet Dragonette hail from London town and are one-part British (guitarist Will Stapleton) and three parts Canadian (Dan Kurtz, Martina Sorbara, and Joel Stouffer). Dan and Martina met at a festival where singer Martina, the only woman on the bill, was playing what is lovingly known as 'tampon music'. Despite the fact that the two came from very different musical backgrounds they hit it off and thus Dragonette was born. Take It Like A Man is taken from Dragonette's debut album Galore which follows this month. Similarities to Gwen Stefani can't be ignored, especially where Martina's singing style is concerned. A delightful slice of electro pop rock with plenty of sing along potential. [Natalie Doyle]
Release date: Out now. Their album Galore is out 6 Aug. http://www.dragonette.com, www.myspace.com/dragonetteband
