DJ Vadim - The Soundcatcher Extras

This album has been done before by many other producers over the past fifteen years. Better late than never eh?

Album title: The Soundcatcher Extras
Artist: DJ Vadim
Label: BBE
DJ Vadim's latest album seems to move him closer to his sound. What that is is hard to pin down; if you're a fan of mundane experimental old school hip-hop then The Soundcatcher Extras is the album for you. When you have 15 tracks of dated beats and average MCs spitting lyrical marmite, things can only brighten up when you have one ray of hope, such as the solitary track, Kill Kill Kill feat. Big Red. DJ Vadim at least gets the title Soundcatchers right, as this album has an array of sounds varying from jungle to hip-hop to breakbeat. If his vision on this extras album is to create a project filled with average remixes, minimal dexterity and no cohesion throughout, then mission accomplished. This album has been done before by many other producers over the past fifteen years. Better late than never eh? [Omar Jenning]
