Deportivo Street Team - Street Sevens Part 2

A double a-side of Deportivo Street Team's own particular band of multi sub-genre referencing dance music, or to use their own term "electronic-sleaze-funk". In the sliding scale between techno and house, these tracks sit rather comfortably around the half way point. Both Brainscan and Me & My Dog are electro-house numbers with a faux 8-bit quality to them, but don't fall into the flatter, colder end of the spectrum. Instead each uses low-tech percussion noises and buzzing, rattling synth lines to build and sustain the satisfying groove. An immediate point of comparison would be early material from The Youngsters on F-Comm, only with a rougher and rawer production aesthetic. [Jack McFarlane]
