Deaf Stereo - EP1

House On Fire is a powerful, almost marching electro-esque song sung with a hint of arrogance

Single Review by Jack Waddington | 13 Oct 2006
Single title: EP1
Artist: Deaf Stereo
Label: Piccadilly Records
This blend of indie and electro at a house tempo would be comfortably suited to a variety of dance floors. Alongside the standard tools of guitar, bass, and drums are well-used synth sounds that gel everything together, pushing the sound a little more for the (dance)floor. House On Fire is a powerful, almost marching electro-esque song sung with a hint of arrogance. Nearing the end of the track, Deaf Stereo bring things to a climax with a final catchy chorus with intense square waves from the synth. On the flip-side, Blackout Falls keeps the cool tone with a synth drone behind electro drumming, again letting things get a little crazy towards the rather abrupt ending. [Jack Waddington]
