A guitar band playing dance music, Danse or Die's brew of stomp to beat grooves and myriad of synth effects work in the aesthetic vain of Weatherall's Two Lone Swordsmen, but with a shameless air of pomp-rawk and hip-shaking disco that is befitting of the sentiment of their new name

A guitar band playing dance music, Danse or Die's brew of stomp to beat grooves and myriad of synth effects work in the aesthetic vain of Weatherall's Two Lone Swordsmen, but with a shameless air of pomp-rawk and hip-shaking disco that is befitting of the sentiment of their new name. Their short but obviously well-rehearsed set flies by, and it becomes clear why they have earned their local following; this is a band that has developed their music by playing it rather than just planning it. Instrumental, The Revolution Starts Here, stands out as obviously being born during a jam session, and is a set highlight for band and crowd alike. It's nice to see the crowd in Sleazy's cheer and clap out of a genuine enthusiasm rather than a passive social nicety. A well deserved response to a very strong set. [Jack McFarlane]
