Sold out, packed to the gunnels and in full flow well before midnight, Edinburgh's Bongo Club anticipated the return to Scotland of one of the drum and bass scene's crucial elements and most influential pioneers, Roni Size. Warming up for Mr Size, and after a ropey start, Morphy pulled together a respectable opener followed by a typically tough and seamless set from The General whose distinctive style captured the attention of the packed club. A noticeably excited G-mac kept it rollin with some big new tunes before making way for the Full Cycle Records head honcho. The unique Full Cycle sound along with the benefit of being a technically excellent DJ saw Roni Size blaze through a masterclass of mixes. Highlights included Out of Breath and Brown Paper Bag which when spun by the man himself added an extra element of prestige to the evening. Front of stage were MC's Ghost and BZ whose skills were endorsed with an approving round of applause by Size himself and which added to what was a fun filled evening of roots drum and bass.
