Glasgow clubbers who are tired of the same old club sounds or pine for those seething, sweating club nights in which they danced the night away as teenagers can now rejoice, for the city has a brand new electro and techno club night. Wax On/Wax Off promises to be full of "melting, filthy, twisted techno," as described by organiser and resident DJ Dawn Zhu herself, which conjures up images of sleazy, swampy voodoo grooves and panoramic city soundscapes. The latter image is particularly appropriate, given the club's none-more-direct location in its venue at 142 Renfield Street, right in the heart of Glasgow's city centre. [Jonathan Robert Muirhead]
