Article by Katie Gordon | 07 May 2009

At the end of this month, Roxy Arthouse will host a one day festival dedicated to promoting all forms of electronic music making, by bringing together artists and technical experts for a day-long event of impressive scope. The festival itself, appropriately titled 'Unique Beats' will be held over 3 floors, and provide an informative and entertaining experience for any budding musician. Sponsored by Edinburgh's musical equipment retailer, Red Dog Music, the event will feature workshops throughout the day, giving demonstrations of cutting edge products by some of the leading brands in the industry. The event is being run in conjunction with music download portal Ten Tracks, who will be there on the day to provide advice to anyone looking to market their music. To top it all off, an array of performances by the likes of Christ and Frog Pocket will ensure an entertaining evening. Expect nothing less than a day filled with demonstrations, exhibitions complimented by the sonic sounds of the electronica scene, and, for a mere £5, attendees will even receive exclusive deals on products. A must for the budding musician looking to sample electronica from an informed perspective.

Unique Beats, The Roxy Arthouse, Edinburgh, 12 - 11pm, advance ticket price £5.
