Section 63 @ The Arches, 3 Apr

Article by Anna Seale | 30 Mar 2009

New night Section 63 kicks off proceedings in its new home at The Arches with an inaugural party of filthy techno and electronic bleeps, blips and beats brought to you by some of the worlds finest musicians. Dave Tarrida requires little introduction to Glasgow’s clubbers as his residency at Test cemented his reputation as one of the city’s techno godfathers.
Long time Tresor resident Pacou brings the Teutonic machine-music flavour to the party. When he’s not busy running his Cache Records label, with releases from Robert Armani and Orlando Voorn amongst others, Pacou can be found regularly destroying dance floors around the globe.
Support at this initial night comes in the shape of local DJ Dave Shades. A promoter and resident DJ at Mount Heart Attack and member of the local aural assault squad Pest Control, he has played alongside the likes of Robert Hood, A Guy Called Gerald and Mark Broom over the years. A fine opening ceremony by anybody's standards.
