Return To Mono: Dave Clarke @ Sub Club

Article by Calum Sutherland | 30 Nov 2010

Two of UK techno’s biggest names meet in the mixer on Fri, 10 Dec as Slam and Dave Clarke share Glasgow’s most notorious noise producing booth at Sub Club.

Dave Clarke’s mainstay status in the global club scene is a testament to the Brighton born DJ’s consistent dedication and desire to keep techno a genuine art form. Working effortlessly to promote all that he finds good in electronic music, Clarke is a true ambassador to the tunes with impeccable credentials.

With a tendency towards the sinister, his sets are often peppered with his own idiosyncratic take on the darker side of dance music. Undoubtedly a man of many musical stylings, Clarke has sailed effortlessly across sub-genres in his twenty odd year career, going port to port from filthy ghetto electro to the bass heavy post punk influences which can be found interwoven throughout his sinister tech/house driven sets. Always compelling, creative and unpredictable, Dave Clarke’s sets are from the heart, so stand next to the speakers.

Slam, as ever, need no introduction but with Stuart and Orde cueing it up before the baron, this one’s a dead cert.

Return to Mono: Xmas Party, Sub Club/ 22 Jamaica St, Glasgow, Friday 10 Dec, 11pm-4am, £12 advance, £14 on door
