Raudive (Oliver Ho) and Tony Scott @ Edit Select

Article by Jaco Justice | 07 Oct 2009

If David Lynch did techno. We could probably just leave it there, but that unsettling notion should perhaps be elaborated upon. Yes, indeed, we should also mention that Oliver Ho, long-time stalwart of UK hard techno, has been twitching sensory systems the planet over with pivotal electronic releases (on Meta and Blueprint) as a variety of aliases: recently including the nerve-droning exploration that is Zov Zov where the lynching really takes an avant-garde hold. But since 2006, as Raudive, we’ve been pushed down a tech and minimal house route, hence the rather tasty tracks through Steve Bug’s Poker Flat label. Ho’s sulky metamorphosis is to be applauded with lashings of vigour. Having the mettle to strip your pulse clean out and shake it bloodily above your head is something we should feel quite impressed about, I would suggest. Edit Select’s selector Tony Scott can be detected here: at this regular Friday Snafu feast, with an eraser above your heads.
