Drop the Lime @ Sneaky Pete's, 8 Dec

Article by Kat Young | 26 Nov 2010

Edinburgh clubnight Axis brings New York producer Drop the Lime to the intimate confines of Sneaky Pete’s for its first December edition.
Luca Venezia, otherwise known as Drop the Lime, has had quite a year in 2010; releasing his hit Sex Sax on his own Trouble & Bass recordings to mainstream acclaim as well as being invited to mix Fabriclive:53, part of the influential Fabric mix cd series. An artist who describes his sound as "NEW YORK CITY BREATHING", the city that never sleeps permeates the mentality of his productions and DJ sets, influenced by everything from traditional 4/4 house and electro to rock’n’roll and rockabilly.

Having remixed the likes of Little Boots and Robyn as well as Moby and Rex the Dog, Venezia has now become a noted name far beyond the breakcore scene from which he originated. Axis have been putting on parties all over Edinburgh’s best venues for the last two years and have now settled into a comfortable weekly residency at the 100 capacity location, bringing their own brand of fidget, bassline and electro with them. This event will be a unique opportunity to catch Drop the Lime in a small venue as part of his extensive Hot as Hell tour.

Drop the Lime plays Axis @ Sneaky Pete's Edinburgh on 8 Dec 11pm - 2am £5 with support from residents Frequent Flyers, Anarkid and Kai Davidson Tickets available online from www.sneakypetes.co.uk
