A night of quality hard dance in store as the Art School welcomes Dave Angel.

Article by Sean McNamara | 11 May 2007
Some tough techno is on the way to Glasgow's Art School for all aficionados this month as a DJ who has earned legendary status over the years comes to town. Dave Angel is a regular visitor to Glasgow and is sure to rock the place again when he brings his unique style to the atmospheric venue. Music has always been part of Angel's life due to his father being a jazz musician. He was to find his musical niche when acid house exploded across Britain in the late eighties. It wasn't until he remixed Sweet Dreams by the Eurhythmics in 1989 that his star really shone. Still seen as one of the best remixes and regularly heard in clubs like Space in Ibiza it's effect has been long lived. Throughout the nineties his DJ career took off as well as continuing with his own productions and working on his own label Rotation Records. The Chelsea-born DJ formulated his sound towards the end of the decade with some hard, funky techno that has a very Detroit feel. Also on the bill is William Daniel, a hard trance specialist who has gained huge popularity with his residency at Inside Out at The Arches and he is also joined by Scott Radar, Nils and Dexter. A banging night is definitely in store so if that's your thing this is not to be missed. [Sean McNamara]
