DnB/Breaks column for February

Andy C, Pendulum, John B, and a 'secret bunker' party - Drum & Bass in February

Article by Dave O' Donnell | 15 Feb 2006
February starts with a bang, with the Glasgow leg of Manga's 10th anniversary celebrations taking place at the Art School on the 3rd. G Mac and Kid support, with the Executioner himself, Andy C headlining. Another heavyweight lineup comes two weeks later as Xplicit bring the mighty Pendulum back to Edinburgh on Saturday the 18th at the Venue. Last time they were up it was a total roadblock, so get your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment!

February also brings the return of Access All Areas on the 1st, at the Liquid Lounge in Glasgow. Previously AAA was a bar session offering up and coming DJs the opportunity to play out, but now they have stepped it up for 2006 with their first club session.

Further afield, the Pangea crew also move to a new home at the Reading Rooms in Dundee. Their inaugural night is Friday the 10th, featuring residents spinning hiphop, breaks and DnB, as well as live graffiti.

The final event worth mentioning is Blacked Out near St Andrews on the 18th. The annual event is held in an old disused nuclear bunker, with three rooms featuring DnB, breaks and techno, including very special sets from much missed Glasgow DnB institution LiveVEvil's Morphy and Paul Reset. More details can be found at www.blackedout.co.uk.

Don't forget John B plays Obscene's 4th Birthday at The Venue, Edinburgh, on the 24th - at only a fiver in advance, this is one of the best-value nights running this month.
