DJ Hell virtually invented Berlin's mid-'90s electroclash scene

Article by Jonathan Robert Muirhead | 06 Mar 2008
Cabaret Voltaire is to be rocked to its foundations when the mighty DJ Hell rolls into town. The Access club is presenting this event in partnership with We Are... Electric and they rightly view this event as a real coup for their calendar. Specialising in definitive house and techno, DJ Hell (or Helmut Josef Geier to his mum) virtually invented Berlin's mid-'90s electroclash scene single-handed, doing much in the process to bring the techno sounds of Munich (his home town) to the rest of the world's attention. He is also responsible for shaping the sounds coming out of Europe through his International Deejay Gigolos imprint. His sets are renowned for being simultaneously heartwarming and heart-pumping and tonight should be no different. Get down there and find out for yourselves. [Jonathan Robert Muirhead]
