This week we invited Glasgow-based DJ and promoter duo VAJ.Power to takeover The Skinny’s weekly show on local community radio station EH-FM, and they invited special guest Maveen to join them.
Sofya Staune and Holly McGowan, aka VAJ.Power, are the brains behind club night, booking agency and mix series FUSE, which brings together visual artists, musicians and DJs to collaborate and create audio-visual performances in a safe and encouraging environment, with a particular focus on those who identify as womxn, non-binary and queer.
FUSE returns to The Art School this Friday (20 Sep) with a typically massive line-up, headlined by fast-rising London DJ Sherelle, who will be accompanied by M.I.C. on the mic. Support comes from new collective G140, made up of KTAB, DIJA, VAJ.Power, Maveen and DDS. More info and tickets here.
As well as this, the duo run a series of VJ Workshops, with the latest taking place this Thursday (19 Sep) at the GSA Students' Association. The workshop is free but advanced booking is necessary – more info here.
