The festival is a great place to seek out and discover local emerging artists, with wee shows popping up all over the place and many bars and restaurants exhibiting exciting new work. Boda Bar has been ahead of the game for a while now, regularly exhibiting art for its patrons to ponder whilst sipping on an ice cold beverage. From August 3rd you'll be able to see work by local artist Chris Gibson. Originally from Fife, Gibson's photographic style was born while mountaineering in the Rockies in Canada during 1998. A self-taught photographer, Gibson's muse is fed by his love of the great outdoors and over time his work has evolved with the use of a computer, allowing the artist to further impress his own unique style on the images. Simple, bold and vivid; many have a zen-like quality to them, and his latest collection is a culmination of his love for travel, his years of Djing and the insights gained from a degree in environmental technology. Grab a cold one from the bar and check it out.

Exhibition runs August 3 to October 1 at Boda Bar, 229 Leith Walk.
