Stay Fresh Sessions: Luxury Death

Filmed at Manchester's Low Four studio, here's a video of Manchester-based indie rockers Luxury Death, playing live ahead of their appearance at Stay Fresh Fest 2

"All the boys in this group wear Dickies work pants," explain Luxury Death in this specially filmed live video, "which is pretty fresh."

That helps explain the band's perspective in staying fresh, ahead of the aptly named Stay Fresh Fest at Manchester's Deaf Institute, but what of their songs? Well, they're effortless slices of breezily hummable pop, made all the more perfect by the band's knack for recognisable refrains and immaculate delivery. Even better: they claim there's more to the Luxury Death project than just music, so we wait with bated breath to see what else the future holds for them.

The band's Ben Thompson used to play in much-loved Sheffield emo duo Nai Harvest, so it should come as no surprise to DIY-attuned punkas that this songwriting partnership with Meg Williams provides such rich pickings. If you want proof of their brilliance, however, enjoy a typical slice of their organ-soaked jangle in the video above.
