Savage Mansion is the new slacker guitar pop project from Craig Angus, former Poor Things guitarist and Martha Ffion collaborator. Angus is joined by drummer Taylor Stewart and Catholic Action duo Andrew MacPherson and Jamie Dubber, on guitar and bass respectively. Savage Mansion's Lost Map debut is a double A-side produced by Suse Bear of Tuff Love, and we're pleased to present the video for Do You Say Hello To Your Neighbours?

Describing the inspiration for Do You Say Hello..., Angus says: "I met my childhood neighbour for a pint last year and the next day I had the hook bit in my head, and I could kinda hear the chords too. It was a bit of a gift really.

"I think that song is about changing communities. I think people know each other less in suburban neighbourhoods than they used to, because it’s become so easy to communicate long distances online, or on your mobile. I remember knowing all my neighbours as a wee guy, four doors up and down, I’m not sure it’s the same anymore."

The track is joined on the release by Honeymoon, a track on the topic of “breaking your leg halfway across the world, and then watching lots of episodes of US crime drama The Practice."

Do You Say Hello To Your Neighbours? / Honeymoon is out on postcard via Lost Map on 26 May; Savage Mansion launch the double A-side at The Hug and Pint, Glasgow on 26 May with support from Lush Purr and Mush – tickets here.
