The Skinny presents A Bus Ride and Flowers In Her Hair by Asaf Agranat (2005), one in a series of selected works from Edinburgh College of Art's past graduates in the discipline of animation. A selection of some of the best of ECA's graduate animation work from the past 20 years will be screened at the 2014 manipulate festival.

The film opens on a warm day on a bus, as the smell of a girl's hair transports a young boy with a fly in a jar. Agranat's touching film was screened in many international festivals and events, and won multiple awards, including Scottish BAFTA for Best Short Animation (2005), the Royal Television Society Award for Best Animation (2005), and similar prizes awarded in the Czech Republic, Russia, Japan and China. After graduating from ECA, Agranat returned to Tel Aviv, where he works as a freelance illustrator, and concentrates on animating in his traditional, hand-drawn style, utilising computers intensively to achieve fast and cost-effective results.
