Video | 15 Jul 2014

2014 marks 25 years of Street Level Photoworks – a Glasgow based gallery and leading photography arts organisation dedicated to enabling public and artist engagement with and creation of photography and other lens-based media. The gallery offers an exhibition programme by a diverse range of photographers, as well as talks and events relating to current projects. Street Level not only promotes photography through exhibitions but also by means of residencies, commissions, publications, and education and outreach programmes.

Street Level promotes inclusiveness, priding themselves on a commitment to “quality and equality across activity.” Now that they have teamed up with the Own Art initiative, they have succeeded in further democratising the buying process. In the above video, Director Malcolm Dickson discusses Street Level’s work and how important the Own Art scheme is to making buying art more accessible.
