If, like many, you're counting down the hours until the return of Netflix sci-fi series Stranger Things, you've now got the perfect soundtrack for your wait: the score to the second season, which is now available to stream.

Set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana in the early 1980s, the retro synth soundscape of Stranger Things was as impactful as the nostalgic, Spielberg-esque aesthetic from the show's creators the Duffer Brothers. Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, members of the Austin instrumental outfit S U R V I V E, provided the music first time around, and the duo are back on score duty on Season 2, which has a different flavour from the much-loved first series.

“In Season 2, we're introducing new styles of composition, while still revisiting old themes when appropriate,” the pair said. “We've created new elements that are necessary to support the story, but still want to remain true to the sound of Season 1.” The dreamy and nightmarish score is available to stream now on both Spotify and Apple Music.
