The Skinny Travel Shorts

From hiking in Myanmar to a particularly memorable trip to Millport, we want to hear your stories about travel far, wide, and very close indeed. We're open to all sorts, just make 'em engaging and we might publish them in our February 2015 Travel special

In a bid to stave off the worst dreich excesses of winter, 2015 sees the launch of our new look Travel supplement, which aims to offer a glimpse of the cultural delights in store around the world in the year ahead and keep everyone’s spirits up in the endless grey days of February.

As part of the special edition, we’re throwing open the doors to new writers. We’re looking for short submissions telling favourite travel anecdotes in under 300 words. Make them funny, make them poignant, make them life-affirming or provocative, but most of all, make them readable. We’ll publish the best ones in our February edition, with more online. And there will be a lovely prize, on which more later.

Here are some examples from the last time we did this. If you’d like us to read your stories, send them to paul.mitchell@theskinny.co.uk by Friday 9 January to be in with a chance of inclusion.

If you need some inspiration, or just want to have a look at what we've been up to, have a click around this map of all the places we've been in the last five years.
