What's On Scotland 8-15 Sep: Doors Open Days

The post-Fringe dust has settled and we're enjoying the calm before the Freshers' storm; so make the most of it with Doors Open Days, Glasgow Juniper Festival, The Adventures of Prince Achmed and Take One Action Film Fest.

Feature by Kate Pasola | 08 Sep 2016

Definitely no need to spend your weekend in your boring old living room now that Doors Open Days are back, giving you admission-free access to some of the most majestic places in the country.

You could climb to the top of the tallest listed building in Scotland (and the only A-listed tower block in Glasgow). You could have a nosy round the beauteous BAad (pictured), or even check out archived goodies and secrets normally held on lock-down throughout the year in locations across the Scotland.

Check out the programme here, and if you're feeling a little overwhelmed, head to their pop-up hub in St Andrew's in The Square where you can get the lowdown on tours, talks, markets and building visits taking place throughout the week. Edinburgh's Doors Open Days weekend takes place between 24-25 Sep.

Head along, try loads of different gins, head home with several bottles, and convince yourself that you could start your own gin festival. Image: Didriks
