Doors Open Days

"If I asked you about art, you'd probably give me the skinny on every art book ever written... But I'll bet you can't tell me what it smells like in the Sistine Chapel. You've never actually stood there and looked up at that beautiful ceiling."

Folks, take Robin Williams' advice from Good Will Hunting and smell more buildings! You've the perfect opportunity to do so throughout this month with Doors Open Days, with many of Scotland's most iconic buildings opening their doors to the public throughout September.

In Glasgow, you can stick your head into the Scottish Ballet headquarters at Tramway or take a look around the Old Central Police Courts without having to be arrested first. In Dundee, have a nosey in Dundee Rep or peek inside HMS Unicorn, one of the world's oldest surviving warships. Old building lovers in Edinburgh, meanwhile, can wander around the newly renovated Leith Theatre (pictured) or take the rare opportunity to check out all of the skeletons and whatnot at the Anatomical Museum.

This is just a fraction of what’s on offer in the weekends during September. Find out more at doorsopendays.org.uk
