Fruitmarket's festival of new and experimental music returns for its third edition this weekend. Elsewhere, Oklou plays Glasgow's QMU and there's a Palestine fundraiser with lots of EHFM DJs
Fruitmarket’s annual festival of new and experimental music Deep Time returns for its third edition, running in the gallery space from 27-29 November. This year’s programme is curated by Diné (Navajo) composer, performer and artist Raven Chacon and titled I See Red, evoking the current urgencies of ecological, civil and political unrest through the liberation of loud noises.
Various sound artists, including Charmaine Lee, Li-Chin Li and Mazen Kerbaj will explore these emergencies, responding with voice, sound and noise. Check out the full list of performers and programme here.
Oklou

We're absolutely obsessed her with French electronica whisperer Oklou's debut album Choke Enough. Made in collaboration with Canadian musician Casey MQ, it's an alternately ethereal and jagged series of soundscapes that bring to life strange pop-infused dreamworlds. Image: Grace Pickering.
Scottish Ballet: The Snow Queen

A lavish production of the winter classic with music from Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, this Scottish Ballet classic takes on the fairy tale that forms the basis for Disney's Frozen – there's fewer belters but there's stunning choreography by Christopher Hampson and design by Lez Brotherston.
