  • Aqsa Arif, Marvi and the Churail. Originally commissioned for Jerwood Survey III (2024-25), led by Southwark Park Galleries and supported by Jerwood Arts.

A major biennial touring exhibition presenting work by ten early career artists, the Jerwood Survey is coming to Scotland for the first time following almost a year travelling around the UK. Running in Edinburgh's Collective Gallery from 28 Feb-4 May, the ten artists were nominated by leading artists working in the UK, offering a non-institutional approach to curation.

Featuring work by Che Applewhaite, Aqsa Arif (pictured), MV Brown, Philippa Brown, Alliyah Enyo, Sam Keelan, Paul Nataraj, Ciarán Ó Dochartaigh, Ebun Sodipo and Kandace Siobhan Walker, the exhibition spans sound, painting, sculpture, moving image and installation, exploring timely, intersecting themes of colonialism, climate change and healing through lenses of gender, sexuality, folklore and spirituality. It's free entry, so just drop by (or clamber up) Calton Hill.
