What's On Scotland 25 Jul-1 Aug: Lunarpalooza & more
In the last weekend before the Fringe, local brewery Moonwake put on Lunarpalooza, a mini festival in Leith. Elsewhere, Waxahatchee plays QMU and there's a Brat party at Stereo
Put on by local brewery Moonwake, Lunarpalooza is a local micro arts and music festival taking place in Leith over 26-28 July: a perfect mini introduction to festival season before the Fringe kicks off, but a lot less overwhelming.
Head to the Shore for a small but perfectly formed programme, with some real bangers on the table: there’s live music from Blue Giant Orkestar, Kathryn Joseph, Callum Easter, Maranta and Bikini Body, as well as street food stalls and – appropriately – plenty of beer. Tickets include six drinks tokens, all the live music and some little exclusive trinkets besides – find yours here.

Waxahatchee
Queen Margaret Union, Glasgow. 30 Jul, 7pm
Twangy country with a modern edge, Waxahatchee is the musical project of indie artist Kathryn Crutchfield, exploring the boundaries of country music with other genres in the Americana tradition. Now on their sixth album, their latest Tiger's Blood was a runaway success. Image: Molly Matalon.
Pip Blom
The Mash House, Edinburgh. 29 Jul, 7pm
Dutch band Pip Blom return on tour with their signature brand of slightly punky, slightly bubblegum bright indie pop.
