Following a sold out 2025 edition, Houseguest Festival returns to three central Glasgow venues – The Art School, Nice 'N' Sleazy and 1990 – this weekend on 4 April, with a gorgeous lineup of grassroots talent from Glasgow and beyond.

Organised by Crowded Flat and SMC, promoters dedicated to platforming local and independent talent, Houseguest is one of the best places to discover new bands right on your doorstep. Playing this year are the likes of Edinburgh punkers Bikini Body, Hastings trio HotWax (pictured), Mantel, Psweatpants and PVC. Grab your all-day tickets here!

Dundee's newest venue is bringing big names to the Tayside. This week, find UK pop legend Jessie Ware on their stage: known for her acclaimed 2020 album, the exhilarating disco-infused What's Your Pleasure, Ware is touring her upcoming album Superbloom. Image: Jack Grange.

Easter Synth Day

Susan Aldworth: Belongings

I, Daniel Blake

Adapted from the Palme d'Or-winning Ken Loach film by Dave Johns, who played Daniel Blake in the original film, this powerful staging offers the same unflinching look at poverty and state neglect in modern-day UK.

Edinburgh Science Festival

Science isn't all experiments and formulae: find an exhibition at the Botanics in which 30 artists explore soil, a dance costume piece about the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon at the Planetarium.
