The summer festivals kick off in Edinburgh this week with the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival, running from 11-20 July across the city's indie venues. Although their scope might seem specific, the programme encompasses everything from funk and trad to swing and techno, so fear not if jazz and blues are not quite your thing – there's something for everyone here.
For more jazzy tunes, find the likes of jazz violinist George Washingmachine, Glasgow-based jazz collective Azamiah alongside the Unoma Okudo Quintet and New Orleans swing-inspied Alligator Gumbo. There's also the likes of New York singer Anaïs Reno or Scottish newcomers TAO and a carnival in Princes Street Gardens. Browse the full programme here.
