Vote for your favourite using the form below, and read on for more details on the shortlist...
Sean Connery
One of Scotland's foremost pop culture icons, Fountainbridge's most famous son brought gravitas, style and a real sense of cool to the screen. His James Bond is a timeless marker of sophistication, and his role as Indiana Jones' father surely puts him near the top of any list of Cool On-Screen Dads.
You said: "Not just his suave James Bond persona but his effortlessly cool, rugged Scottish charm – he had that perfect blend of tailored sophistication and down-to-earth appeal."
Maxine Eggenberger
The deputy editor at fashion website WhoWhatWear, Maxine shares her thoughts on fashion every day, and her personal style keeps things simple. She pairs a minimal colour palette with interesting silhouettes and plenty of layering.
You said: "[Maxine] mixes high street and high end in a friendly and aspirational way."
Ncuti Gatwa
The Rwandan-Scottish actor is always a striking presence, whether that's on screen as Eric in Sex Education or as the iconic Doctor Who, or in his stage roles such as his recent star performance in Oscar Wilde classic The Importance of Being Earnest.
You said: "I loved his flamboyant African style in Sex Education. The outfits totally suited him and he wore them with such confidence, he really shone. Off screen, he is just as stylish too... all the colours and patterns! Also a beautiful human inside & out."
Shirley Manson
An iconic figure in Scottish music, the influence of Garbage's lead singer Shirley Manson – in music, performance and fashion – is hard to overstate. As one nominator for the Edinburgh STYLE Icon put it: "Shirley Manson is cool. That's all there is to it."
You said: "Her ability to blend punk edge with sophisticated style is truly iconic. She embodies a rebellious spirit that resonates with the city's own blend of historical grandeur and modern vibrancy... her style has left a lasting impact on me and the fashion scene in Edinburgh and beyond."
Port of Leith Distillery
Whisky distilleries typically have a certain look and feel – they're often bucolic, charming and historic – but Port of Leith Distillery goes in a different direction. The jet-black, nine-storey building is a totem by the Leith waterfront, pairing incredible technology and engineering with crisp, modern design.
You said: "Architectural genius. Scotland's first vertical distillery, and its unique eye-catching design will be showcased in Edinburgh for many many years to come."
W Armstrong & Son Vintage
The vintage pieces that come out of Armstrongs, from wool coats to 90s sweatshirts, can be seen all over the city on any given day, but Armstrongs is itself a style icon. From its amazing window displays to the neverending racks of classic clothing, it's a shop as cool as the clothes you'll find inside.
You said: "It has to be Armstrongs vintage clothing shop. My wardrobes are bursting with treasures from there!"
