The Creative Edinburgh Awards celebrate some of the best of Edinburgh's artistic and creative community – here's a look at this year's award-winners

  • Creative Edinburgh Awards: The 2022 shortlist

The Creative Edinburgh Awards returned tonight at Summerhall, celebrating the best of the city's creative scene in the first in-person running of the Awards since 2019 with an awards ceremony and ceilidh. 

Figurenotes – a music software project which teaches music through colour and shape – received the Collaboration Award, while the Innovation Award went to Neon8, the multimedia and virtual reality production company. Move To Feel, Ailsa Lochhead’s project ​​that uses the silent disco headset to host mindful movement practice, won the Freelance Award, and creative collective/arts magazine Little living room received this year's Creative Startup Award.

The Community Award went to Art Buds in Muirhouse for their free programme of outdoor creative learning for early years and school-age children in North Edinburgh. Push the Boat Out – Edinburgh’s new poetry and spoken word festival – received the Edinburgh City Award, and the Inclusion Award went to AMPLIFI, the series of gigs at The Queen’s Hall showcasing Black and POC Scottish musicians, programmed by Halina Rifai and Arusa Qureshi.

The Student Award went to poet and artist Tanatsei Gambura, while the Leadership Award was awarded to Ally Zlatar. Alice Mary Cooper and Co.'s The Bush carbon light theatre tour won this year's Sustainability Award.
