They're back! The Creative Edinburgh Awards return for 2021 with another discipline-hopping, genre-busting celebration of some of the city's most exciting cultural projects and people. This year's shortlist has a bit of everything, and there's a fitting focus on community-minded projects among the nominees.

Community radio station EHFM are up for this year's City Award; riso printing social enterprise Out of the Blueprint are nominated for the Social Award alongside The Leith Collective (a retail space giving the chance for grassroots artists to sell their work) and Lyrical Life. LGBTQ+ community network Somewhere are on the shortlist for the Startup Award, and artist Pilar Garcia de Leaniz is nominated in two categories for her 100 Local Businesses Edinburgh project, illustrating the people behind creative businesses across the capital – scroll down to read the list in full.

Ahead of the awards themselves, there's a virtual birthday party on Thursday 4 November to celebrate ten years of Creative Edinburgh. This year's Awards will be given out in a ceremony at the recently-reopened Fruitmarket on Thursday 18 November, which you can follow along on a live stream from 7pm. Tickets for both available events are available now via Eventbrite
